Extreme Temperature Diary-Tuesday November 19th, 2019/Taking Note Of Current Disturbing Worldwide Hot Spots

Tuesday November 19th… Dear Diary. The main purpose of this ongoing blog will be to track United States extreme or record temperatures related to climate change. Any reports I see of ETs will be listed below the main topic of the day. I’ll refer to extreme or record temperatures as ETs (not extraterrestrials).😉

I usually look at the Climate Reanalyzer products once a day, taking note of both warm and cold anomalies. What struck me today is that the planet ticked up from +.6°C to +.7°C above the 1979-2000 base, and that there are many disturbing warm anomalies in pockets across the globe:

Let’s delve into a few of these. Australia is broiling during their spring, and this week will be no exception:

Although this time of the year most locations in the Arctic are below freezing, this region as a whole is at +4.0°C above average:

Most of the anomalous warmth is over Greenland and the North Pole. It’s no wonder that open water continues along portions of Alaska’s coast:

Across the U.S. West:

But, California will see big changes this week for the better (not so much for northern California):

I may add more relevant notes to this post should they cross my radar later today.

Here is more climate and weather news from Tuesday:

(As usual, this will be a fluid post in which more information gets added during the day as it crosses my radar, crediting all who have put it on-line. Items will be archived on this site for posterity. In most instances click on the pictures of each tweet to see each article.)
